Hey everyone!
I wanted to post a quick little blurb about my next comic project. I'm currently working on 2 very awesome comics right now;
The Standard and The Hero Code
I'm having a BLAST working on them, and hearing people’s feedback is fantastic. Thanks so much to those of you who have read them, followed the books progress, sent in any feedback, or just creeping and checking out the art!
But this is where the personal work comes in. My available time I have for any sort of personal comic work is terribly limited. Realistically, looking at around 5-10 hours a week at MOST to work on it.
I’ve tossed many ideas around and came upon some old concept work (I included them in this post). I wanted to show the old stuff just to give you guys an idea of some of the topics and genre that the comic will be in. I’m thinking it will be around 20-50 pages. Something “quick” and do-able. One of the goals for myself this year is to get some personal work out there to you guys! Client work is wonderful, but personal work is something for the soul, and something that can spark the passion that you have in your chosen work. At least for me J
So, until a next update, have a great day, keep reading and making comics everyone!
*NOTE: These are concepts. The art will most likley be traditional comic art, not painted*

24 Hour Comic Book PAGES
Well, it’s been almost a solid month, without posting the pages of my 24 Hour Comic Book Day pages.
Not entirely sure why I’ve waited so long to post these. I think I was waiting to write some elaborate article on the PROS vs CONS of my day, or something along those lines. I will say, this was a totally awesome experience. Something I will most definitely be doing again next year. Not only what I learned about myself, but what I can accomplish under a deadline placed on myself.
Another thing, is that the book was never finished. I made it to page 19, art only. If you watched the previous updates, I mentioned that I came up with the plots fairly quickly. I also had a word document with a rough script as well. Since this was supposed to be done all on the same day, I feel like it would be dishonest to finish the book. This is not to say that I won’t “redo” this script/comic at some time. I think it has some solid potential (for me anyways J )
Finally so you have an idea, the theme of the book was “Out of chaos, comes Order”. The main character finds out that he has the blood of ancient heroes inside of him. A wizard awakens this inside him, and he is able to destroy the oppressors in the world. So, there is some flash backs, showing the heroes of old. Enough lip service, ENJOY!

24 Hour Comic Book Day!
Well here we go! Tomorrow (October 1st, 2011) is the Official 24 Hour Comic Book day challenge!
Click here for the official site!
Quick run down of what the challenge is;
-Create a 24 page comic book in 24 hours. This includes all artwork, all story, everything outside of mass production ha ha.
-No preparation can be done. Save for materials i.e. reference, sharpening pencils etc etc.
So why even do this? Well, the challenge of course! As all artist should know, it's always been about self expression, and knowledge. Always wanting to get better, increase ones skills, and be the best he/she can be. This means endless study, endless work at the grindstone, and endless passion to learn the mighty secrets of "getting better." What ever the heck that means!
Long winded conversation out of the way, I will be continually updating this post while I try and attempt to tackle this challenge. Hope you all enjoy watching this, and wish me success!

Panel Thumbnail
I posted this on Twitter last night, and thought I would share here as well.
This is a rough sketch for another project I'm working on. Again, I'll share more details soon, but the deadline on this project is very lax.
Enjoy!

Webcomic Style Test
Hey friends!
I finished these up over the last few days. I've been bouncing around in my mind, weighing the pros over the cons. I keep thinking that I should keep these close to the vest for now, and I'm going to go ahead with that.
BUT! Before I stop cold turkey on you guys, I'll show you the doodles.
Keep in mind that these are simple style tests. Many things will change (style, black and white? Or colour? How Fantasy will the characters/story be? Will they be even MORE cartooney? etc...)
So enjoy the little sketches, and I'll keep you updated once some serious walls have been knocked down, and it starts to look like this will become a reality. Until then, I'll keep hacking away!
Keep reading comics, and keep MAKING comics everyone! Talk soon :)
