Well here we go! Tomorrow (October 1st, 2011) is the Official 24 Hour Comic Book day challenge!
Click here for the official site!
Quick run down of what the challenge is;
-Create a 24 page comic book in 24 hours. This includes all artwork, all story, everything outside of mass production ha ha.
-No preparation can be done. Save for materials i.e. reference, sharpening pencils etc etc.
So why even do this? Well, the challenge of course! As all artist should know, it's always been about self expression, and knowledge. Always wanting to get better, increase ones skills, and be the best he/she can be. This means endless study, endless work at the grindstone, and endless passion to learn the mighty secrets of "getting better." What ever the heck that means!
Long winded conversation out of the way, I will be continually updating this post while I try and attempt to tackle this challenge. Hope you all enjoy watching this, and wish me success!

Something special for THE STANDARD!
Hey friends!
I wanted to toss up a screen grab of something I'm working on today. I will definitely be showing more as we finish it up!
I should also note, this is for John Lee's "THE STANDARD". Click the link for the official website to find out more information, as well as where to buy the first two issues!

Panel Thumbnail
I posted this on Twitter last night, and thought I would share here as well.
This is a rough sketch for another project I'm working on. Again, I'll share more details soon, but the deadline on this project is very lax.
Enjoy!

Webcomic Style Test
Hey friends!
I finished these up over the last few days. I've been bouncing around in my mind, weighing the pros over the cons. I keep thinking that I should keep these close to the vest for now, and I'm going to go ahead with that.
BUT! Before I stop cold turkey on you guys, I'll show you the doodles.
Keep in mind that these are simple style tests. Many things will change (style, black and white? Or colour? How Fantasy will the characters/story be? Will they be even MORE cartooney? etc...)
So enjoy the little sketches, and I'll keep you updated once some serious walls have been knocked down, and it starts to look like this will become a reality. Until then, I'll keep hacking away!
Keep reading comics, and keep MAKING comics everyone! Talk soon :)

The Standard. Issue 2 pending cover.
Good Monday everyone!
I got the green light to show you the cover of the 2nd Issue of The Standard! As I write this, I realize I should have copied the Inks over as well. Maybe I'll do that later. But for now, hope you enjoy the colours, and hell, the entire cover :)
*This has been sent for approval, so slight changes may still be made to the final print version.

The Hero Code: Screengrab 32
Hey everyone!
I've been posting quite a bit of "Screen grabs" on my Twitter account. Since I've made the switch to digital work for most of comics work, I thought I should press the old "Print Screen" to share with you guys!
Today's quick one is an establlishing shot of a city in The Hero Code. One of the comics I'm working on with Jamie Gambell right now.
Talk to you soon!

Jesop King Mini Comic - Page 1
Hey everyone!
I was able to scrape some time up and finish page 1 of the mini comic. I will most likely do one more final pass over the art before I put the text in. Beefing up line weights and making things clearer if I need to. I'm still tossing around an idea for the title, but the main character is Jesop King. You can see the previous blog post here for some concept art for him. And here as well :)
Also, it's funny. All this time I've been bouncing around new ideas and concepts. In the end, I've come to the conclusion of using the story I first came up with, 'Da Hungah'. You can check that post out here as well.
This new version is a swap. Changing it to the world of Jesop King, but it will be essentially the same story as those pages in Da Hungah'.
So, enjoy! More pages coming soon!
